3rd National Essay Competition on Consumer Law | Commemorating National Consumer Day 2025

The Chair on Consumer Law and Practice at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru organised an essay competition during September-October 2025 to commemorate National Consumer Day 2025 (24th December). This essay competition sought to stimulate interest and foster growth amongst students to explore and engage with contemporary and seminal issues in the field of consumer law and policy.
The winners of this Essay Competition were declared and felicitated by the Department of Consumer Affairs on December 24, 2025.
Results
First Place: Ms. Sadika Khera and Ms. Vaishnavi Chauhan

Sadika is a fourth-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student at the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi. Her interests include intellectual property law, competition law, and consumer protection, with a strong focus on research, policy analysis, and advancing consumer welfare.

Vaishnavi is a fourth-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student at the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi. She has a strong interest in Intellectual Property Rights and Media and Entertainment Law, and is drawn to legal research and analytical writing.
Second Place: Mr. Akash Kumar Sahu

Akash is currently a 3rd-year student pursuing B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) [Cyber Security] at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. His academic interests include consumer protection law, data privacy, cybersecurity regulation, fintech law, and emerging AI governance frameworks.
He has authored and co-authored research articles on data protection and technology law for reputable legal platforms. Akash actively participates in national-level moot courts and various essay writing competitions.
Third Place: Ms. Anubhuti Raje

Anubhuti is a final year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) student at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, having a keen interest in dispute resolution, white-collar crime, and public policy. She has developed an extensive research portfolio with publications in leading national and international journals, including the Ottawa Law Review, Harvard Health and Human Rights Journal, NLS Business Law Review, and SCC Online. Her work has been recognised across global platforms, most notably through her win at the European Air Law Association (EALA) Prize in Vienna, Austria and distinctions in other prestigious writing competitions.
